Enjoy Relaxing Treatment with Clearer  Complexion

what is a refresh facial

A refresh facial is simply a non-invasive skincare treatment that is offered in almost every spa. Its main focus is to restore your skin, thus making it to appear brighter, cleaner, hydrated, and refreshed.

A refresh facial is suitable for everyone. Therefore, you will still benefit from it whether you are a teenager, male or female. The treatment usually takes approximately an hour to finish, and it consists of cleansing, exfoliation, chemical peels, extraction, topical treatment, facial mask and sun protection.

Typical Procedures

Before your treatment starts, your esthetician will remove your makeup and take a quick evaluation of your skin, thus determining your skin type and condition.  This will assist your esthetician in deciding the proper products and procedures for producing the best outcome.

There are generally 8 common procedures in a refresh facial treatment, and they are explained below.

Cleansing

Your esthetician will use a gentle cleanser to remove impurities, grease and oil from your face. The cleanser is likely tailored to your skin type and condition.

Exfoliation

Your esthetician will gently remove dead skin cells and impurities via a facial scrub or chemical peel. This process can produce even skin tone and remove rough skin texture. After exfoliation, your skin will be able to absorb topical skincare products easily, thus producing optimal results.

Steam Cleansing

During this process, your esthetician will use a steaming machine on your face to promote circulation. and open up your pores for improving the absorption of skincare products. Steam cleansing can also loosen up blackheads and whiteheads for easier extraction.

Extraction

Extraction is the process of removing blackheads, whiteheads and impurities from your pores. Your esthetician will use a comedone extractor to get the job done. This process can damage your skin if done improperly. Therefore, an experienced esthetician is highly recommended to perform this particular procedure.

Please note that your esthetician will normally avoid extracting stubborn blackheads and whiteheads in order to prevent scarring your skin.

Facial Massage

Your esthetician will massage your face via special techniques, thereby promoting blood circulation, and most clients will usually fall asleep due to the relaxation.

Topical treatment

Your esthetician will apply a custom blend of serums or creams on your face. This process is primarily meant to hydrate, moisturize, nourish, and brighten your skin while managing your skin concerns. As a result, your skin will appear softer, plumper and radiant.

Facial Mask

A facial mask infused with rich hydrating and moisturizing ingredients will be placed on your face for at least 30 minutes. This process is meant to minimize inflammation and irritation while locking in moisture, thereby resulting in a softer and even tone complexion.

Sun Protection

Finally, your esthetician will apply a non-comedogenic sunscreen on your face for UV and environmental protection. It is usually SPF 30 and won’t clog your pores.

How often to Get a Refresh Facial?

The frequency of your treatment depends primarily on your budget, skin sensitivity and expectations. Generally, most clients are satisfied will 2 treatments per month.

However, if you have very sensitive skin, it is best to get advice from your esthetician.

Treatment Cost

It is not uncommon to pay at least $100 per treatment. However, certain spas may charge less in less trendy locations. Also, your esthetician may offer a price discount for signing up for multiple treatments.

Conclusion

A refresh facial is great for maintaining a clear and radiant complexion. However, seeking an esthetician with extensive experience is highly recommended for the utmost results.
